Optimas School is a system that combines both hardware and software in order to optimise and make the most of your computer classroom, greatly enhancing the teaching experience.
As well as allowing high levels of communication within the classroom, the system allows the teacher to have everything perfectly under control. Innumerable resources and teaching material can be used, sending video and audio in real time through the classroom’s computer network.
Optimas School is, in itself, the most complete and up-to-date digital Language Laboratory available.
High quality audio and video can be sent in real time using only the classroom’s computer network. Up to 10 channels can be configured to broadcast simultaneously. The teacher can send different audio-visual resources to different groups of students from different analogue or digital sources.
Optimas School allows oral communication between the students and the teacher, something which is fundamental in order to work on oral expression and comprehension. Up to 8 simultaneous conversation work groups can be created, as well as consecutive or random pairs. The students can interact using their microphones, and the teacher can listen to them or speaks to them.
This includes different tools which allow the teacher to manage and administer the classroom in a simple and personalized manner. The teacher can request the students’ names and see them on his/ her monitor, as well as decide how he/ she wants to see a general view of the classroom. The teacher can create personalized profiles in order to store and retrieve different classroom configurations.
This allows greater levels of discipline to be maintained in the classroom, since the teacher has total control over what happens in class. The teacher can see the students’ screens, as well as listen to them and record them. The system has a remote control feature which allows the teacher to switch the students’ computers on or off, lock them, execute programmes automatically or deny access to applications.
Optimas School includes DLL, a digital recorder/player which can be used to design highly motivating learning projects, based on audio and video resources with bookmarks, questions, comments and subtitles. Among other features, the students can adjust the playback speed and compare their pronunciation with the original.
A central piece of equipment which encompasses, in a single device, all the management and control features, freeing up the teacher’s computer from these tasks. This device allows you to simultaneously work with Windows or Linux in the classroom, and it includes an additional multimedia storage drive as well as a public address sound management system.
