The Instituto Social de la Marina (Fishermen’s Institute) renews its Roycan language lab
The `Isla Cristina` Fishermen`s Training Institute, Centro Nacional de Formación del Instituto Social de la Marina, has used Roycan´s technology to turn its computing classroom into a language lab. The Institute provides vocational training for fishermen in the Isla Cristina (Huelva, Spain) area. Last year, it commissioned Roycan to turn its computing classroom into a high-quality Language Lab and Multimedia Center.
As Jose Carlos Macias Díaz, the Center`s Director explains, "The new classroom is a make-over of existing facilities but it now works faster, and delivers a better image and service..." The installation was based on a conventional computer classroom, which — thanks to Optimas Technology® — has been turned into a state-of-the-art language lab. "This is a very special language lab," says Macías, "the training we offer at our center is highly specific so we need a technology that perfectly meets our needs."
"We use it exclusively as a language lab and it is a godsend. Now we use audiovisual material of all kinds. Furthermore, one can throw any given video at an individual student, which makes the system both easy to use and extremely useful", he went on. Macías adds " We have been lucky enough to work with Roycan for several years now. The firm is very professional and responsive."
Roycan won the competitive public tender to update the center`s facilities. The company`s bid was judged to be the most competitive.
